This is a 4-in-1 card (resident visa, work permit, ARC, and re-entry permit).

• Requirements: You must qualify under a specific ministry's guidelines (e.g., Economy, Science & Technology). The easiest and most common route is the "Salary" qualification: proving a previous monthly salary of at least 160,000 NTD (approx. $5,000 USD).
• Benefits: Valid for 1 to 3 years. It gives you the "open work right," meaning you can work remotely for overseas clients, work for a Taiwanese company, or start your own business without needing a local sponsor.
• National Health Insurance (NHI): Gold Card holders are immediately eligible to join Taiwan's NHI, skipping the standard 6-month waiting period. NHI is consistently ranked as one of the best healthcare systems globally.
