Visa-Free Runs

• The Reality: Serbia is not in the EU or Schengen zone. Citizens of the US, UK, and most EU countries can enter visa-free for 90 days.
• The "Border Run" Tradition: It is extremely common for nomads to live in Belgrade for years simply by driving 2 hours to the Bosnian or Hungarian border, crossing over, having a coffee, and returning the same day for a fresh 90-day stamp. While legally gray, immigration officials tolerate this for Western passports.

Freelance (Entrepreneur) Residency

If you want legal residency and a local bank account, you must register as an Entrepreneur (Preduzetnik).

• Process: You register your sole proprietorship at the Serbian Business Registers Agency (APR). This gives you the right to apply for a temporary residence permit (Privremeni boravak), initially granted for 1 year.
