- Requirements: You must prove a monthly income of at least 3 times the Romanian gross average salary. In 2026, this translates to roughly €3,700 - €4,100 per month. You must have been employed or freelancing for a company outside Romania for at least 3 years prior to applying.
- The Process: The application is submitted online via the government's evisa portal. Once approved, you enter Romania and apply for the physical residence permit at the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI).
- Duration: Valid for 6 months initially, and can be renewed if the income requirements continue to be met.
