Qatar is a wealthy Gulf state that heavily incentivizes corporate expatriates rather than independent digital nomads. There is no official digital nomad visa.

Work Visa (Employer Sponsored)

This is the standard route for 99% of expats in Qatar.

• The System: You must secure a job offer from a Qatari company. The company handles your entire visa process, securing your Residency Permit (RP). You cannot legally freelance or take on side clients without explicit permission from your primary employer.

Real Estate Residency

If you wish to live in Qatar independently, you can buy property.

• Requirements: Buying property worth at least $200,000 USD in designated freehold zones (like The Pearl or Lusail) grants you a temporary residency. Investing over $1 million USD grants permanent residency and access to free healthcare and education.
