Expat Taxes in Qatar
Planning your move to Qatar? Here is everything you need to know about expat taxes for digital nomads and expats in 2026.
[!TIP] Qatar is a pure 0% personal income tax jurisdiction.
The Tax Reality
There is no personal income tax, no capital gains tax, and no wealth tax. If you earn $500,000 a year, you keep $500,000.
- Corporate Tax: If you operate a business (LLC) outside of the free zones, the corporate tax rate is a flat 10%. However, most foreign businesses set up in the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) or other free zones to maintain 0% or heavily discounted rates.
- No VAT (Yet): Unlike the UAE (which introduced a 5% VAT) and Saudi Arabia (which has a 15% VAT), Qatar has continually delayed the implementation of a Value Added Tax, making everyday goods slightly more tax-efficient than its neighbors.
