- The D-Number vs. National Identity Number: If you stay less than 6 months, you get a D-Number. If you stay longer, you get a National Identity Number. Both allow you to open a bank account, but the D-Number has more restrictions.
- BankID: Like MitID in Denmark, BankID is your digital passport in Norway. You need it to log into public services, sign contracts, and pay bills. You get it from your Norwegian bank (like DNB or SpareBank 1).
- Vipps: The Norwegian equivalent of Venmo. It is universally used.
