Digital Nomad Visa & Immigration in Argentina
Planning your move to Argentina? Here is everything you need to know about digital nomad visa & immigration for digital nomads and expats in 2026.
Buenos Aires is the undisputed digital nomad capital of South America. The blend of European architecture, incredible steak/wine culture, and hyper-devalued currency makes it irresistible.
The Digital Nomad Visa (Rentista / Nómada Digital)
Argentina officially launched its Nomad Visa, allowing remote workers to stay legally.
- Requirements: You must prove you work for a foreign company or have foreign clients. The income requirement is relatively low (often tied to the minimum wage, effectively proving you earn at least $2,000 - $2,500 USD per month).
- Duration: Granted for 6 months, renewable for another 6 months (1 year total).
- The Tourist Overstay Reality: Many nomads never bother with the visa. They enter on a 90-day tourist visa, overstay for a year, and simply pay a small fine (the "Habilitación de Salida") at the airport when they leave. While the government tolerates this, overstaying prevents you from signing long-term leases or opening bank accounts.
